Conley Gibbs, Jr. knew as early as age three that God set him apart to proclaim His Word. As a young child, he began his “public” ministry by lining his teddy bears on the bed each night after dinner and preaching to them. His ministerial ambitions grew as he continued to study and developed his speaking style. Dr. David C. Penn recognized young Gibbs’ calling and encouraged him to preach his first sermon at the Robbins Church of Christ at the age of twelve. This also began an Elijah-Elisha relationship whereas Dr. Penn began to mentor Gibbs and provide fatherly guidance and direction to his development as a preacher and church administrator.

 

The Lord has truly blessed Conley Gibbs, Jr. with favor in the ministry. He has served churches in the Midwest and has gained national attention as a much sought after speaker for churches, universities, regional and national lectureships, marriage retreats, and singles seminars. Additionally, this man of God held a two week Gospel Meeting in Kingston, Jamaica, during which many young adult attendees expressed spiritual hope and renewal.

 

With a passion for writing, Minister Gibbs served as a monthly columnist for Word Up Magazine & Community Guide (2009 – 2012) and frequently addressed family, community and social issues. He also penned two books, which have been received with great reception by the religious community.
