Spiritual Health

As a living organism and vibrant spiritual body, the spiritual well-being of the Gateway body serves as an essential part of the growth, development and viability of this fellowship of believers. Therefore, this congregation earnestly prays for the power of God’s Holy Spirit in the reading, studying and application of God’s Word. Our direction shall be determined by God’s Word; our motives shall be guided by God’s Spirit; and our consciences governed by a selfless desire to honor the Father, exalt Jesus and exemplify the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 4:15-16; 5:23-33; Colossians 1:18, 24; 1 Pet. 2:5)

Holistic Health

In an effort to effectively meet the needs of the whole person, Gateway ministers to the three part nature of man – spirit, soul and body. These broad areas include the spiritual, emotional, psychological, and physical natures that exist in every person. The view of this ministry is that these parts are not isolated, but interdependent realities where the health (or lack thereof) of one part inevitably affects the experiences of the other parts. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Functional Health

The descriptive Bible example of the church as the body of Christ highlights the need for effective functioning of each part of the body. Believers, who make up the body, are to be equipped to function within the scope of his/her God-given role in the body. Each part/person serves to function according to the headship of Christ. Further, the absence of “schism” in the body necessarily makes each member to work in a complementary union with other members for the effectual working of the body of Christ in intense love for one another. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27, 13:1-8; 1 Peter 4:8)
